B9316666547Z.1_20150319221253_000_GTOA98J48.1-0Itzhak Perlman, heads to Istanbul for the third time in as many years, for a concert appearance at the Zorlu Center PSM on Thursday, May 28, 2015, 9 PM.

The Israeli-American virtuoso, who played two sold-out concerts in İstanbul in 2013 and 2014, will be joined onstage by pianist Rohan DeSilva.

“The wonderful, warm and responsive audiences make the trip worthwhile, says pianist Rohan DeSilva. “Itzhak and I are looking forward to the delicious cuisine and great Turkish delights.”

The 68-year old violinist’s upcoming concert hopes to equal his previous sold-out concerts in which he performed for more than 3,000 classical music lovers.

After their Istanbul concert, the pair head to Izmir to thrill audiences for the first-time on Saturday, May 30, 2015.

Izmir is one of the fastest-growing cruise-ship ports of call on the Aegean and an excellent base for trips to nearby Ephesus and Pergamon.

Let’s hope Itzhak Perlman and Rohan DeSilva get to spend some time browsing the boulevards, enjoying the elegant seafront, riding a century-old cliff-face elevator and visiting some of the most extensive Roman ruins outside Pompeii.

Can you guess all these icons have in common?

In celebration of the Summer 2015 releases of two forthcoming box sets of Itzhak Perlman’s entire discographies on Deutsche Grammophon/Decca and EMI/Warner/Angel Classics, we are looking back on highlights from Itzhak Perlman’s extraordinary career.

One special moment in Perlman’s career was his debut on “The Ed Sullivan Show”. “Performing on the Ed Sullivan Show was a watershed moment in my career,” says Itzhak Perlman.

The one things that all of these amazing entertainers have in common is that they made their debuts on the Ed Sullivan Show in this Perlman Pursuit puzzle.

Itzhak Perlman first appeared on “The Ed Sullivan Show” in 1958, when he was just 13. He was discovered in a talent search to find an Israeli representative for Ed Sullivan’s “Caravan of the Stars” U.S. tour. His debut performance on “The Ed Sullivan Show” was a breakthrough not only for classical music, but also for Perlman, who rose to new heights of fame. He appeared again at the age of 19 in 1964, on the same show with the Rolling Stones.

There were countless acts and performers who made their debuts or their most famous television appearances on TV’s longest-running variety show including The Supremes, The Rolling Stones, Bob Hope, Lena Horne, Martin and Lewis, Dinah Shore, Albert Schweitzer, Irving Berlin, Fred Astaire and Jane Powell, Eddie Fisher, and The Beatles.

Itzhak’s international appearances continue this weekend, when he will play at the inaugural concert of the newly renovated Heichal Hatarbut Hall with the Israel Philharmonic and Zubin Mehta conducting. Hope you can make it!
