Itzhak Perlman Performs Tonight on The Kennedy Center Honors
Posted Dec 27, 2016 by itzhakperlman

Itzhak Perlman performs Beethoven’s “Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 8, in G” with pianist Yefim Bronfman. Pianist Yuja Wang performs “Piazzola Grand Tango,” in a tribute to pianist Martha Argerich on tonight’s The 39th Annual Kennedy Center Honors TV Special from Washington, D.C. at 9 p.m. on CBS.

Jeff Goldblum and Placido Domingo speak eloquently about her passionate, expressive style, but it’s violinist Itzhak Perlman who pays her the greatest compliment, saying, “I’m actually feeling lucky to be living during your lifetime so that we can experience your musicianship, your brilliance, and your poetry.”

Oscar winner Al Pacino, singer-songwriter James Taylor, R&B singer Mavis Staples, Argentine pianist Martha Argerich and members of the rock band the Eagles are feted by President and Mrs. Obama and others in this ceremony hosted by Stephen Colbert.

Itzhak Perlman Makes Broadway Debut in ‘Oh, Hello on Broadway’
Posted Nov 28, 2016 by itzhakperlman

Itzhak Perlman was the surprise guest at the matinee performance of ‘OH, HELLO ON BROADWAY’ starring Nick Kroll (Comedy Central’s “Kroll Show”) and John Mulaney (Netflix’s “The Comeback Kid”), on Saturday, November 26, 2016. The appearance marked Itzhak Perlman’s Broadway theater debut and showcased his comedic talents. He joins another notable guests including Tina Fey, Katie Couric, Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Stephen Colbert and Alan Alda who have appeared in the ‘Too Much Tuna’ segment during performances at the Lyceum Theater on Broadway.

Oh, Hello stars Nick and John as their wildly popular alter egos, Gil Faizon and George St. Geegland – outrageously opinionated, 70-something, native New Yorkers that Kroll and Mulaney first began performing on the alt-comedy stages in NYC. Honed for well over a decade, the duo garnered a cult following as they found their way onto a Comedy Central special, viral videos and late night couches everywhere.

OH, HELLO ON BROADWAY is Gil and George’s pull-no-punches “memoir for the stage”—a laugh-a-minute two-man tour-de-force that’s part scripted, part spontaneous comedy and at once an affectionate homage to the stage and a skewering of the autobiographical celebrity-driven “theatre event of the season.”

Itzhak Perlman and the New York Philharmonic
Posted Nov 09, 2016 by itzhakperlman

“Just by being Itzhak Perlman, this particular conductor had the Philharmonic’s string players emulating his own relaxed warmth and breadth of tone.” So says The New York Times of legendary violinist Itzhak Perlman, who appears with the New York Philharmonic one night only to conduct and perform lyrical Beethoven Romances and powerhouse Brahms.

This sold-out concert is a special event of the 2016–17 season
