Martha Argerich and Itzhak Perlman’s New Album Coming in September
Posted Sep 14, 2016 by itzhakperlman

unnamed

The two living legends of piano and violin, Martha Argerich and Itzhak Perlman recorded a new album together which will be released on September 31, 2016 by Warner Classics. The new album will include works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Robert Schumann, and Johannes Brahms!

It will be their first studio recording. It has been almost twenty years since they recorded a sonata album live from the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. At the recital in 1998 they played the three most famous sonatas showing the richness and diversity of the 19th century in music – the Kreutzer Sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven, the Violin Sonata by Cesar Franck, and Robert Schumann’s Violin Sonata No. 1. The sonatas by Beethoven and Franck were released on Warner Classics as the only recording of these two legendary musicians so far.

We are looking forward to Itzhak Perlman’s forthcoming album with another living legend – Martha Argerich.
